This low growing segde grass has a light green blade nad grows in clumps via rhizomes. The flowers a brown and are form tails at the tops of the grasses. It does best in moist to wet soils, found commonly near or in water. It is a perennial grass that grows along most of the west coast and provides shelter for birds, mammals, and amphibians
