Plant Highlights

Coastal Sage Scrub is one of the rarest evergreen oak shrubs to be found in California, found only in the Southern Coastal and Northern Baja regions, Rapid housing development threatens this shrub. These oaks prefer cool fogg in the summer and warm coastal weather in the winter. Leaves are spiny and flat in structure, with spiny p[oints on the end. The twigs are reddish-brown, maturing to a soft brown.
