A small evergreen shrub that is native to the woodland edge of Oak forests and upper mountain ranges. They prefer well drained soils, growing slowly compared to most Rhamnus varieties. From summer into fall, Holly-leaf berries are loved by smaller mammals and birds, making it a good hedge or native screen for wildlife.
