Plant Highlights

Stinging Nettle is a fast growing, moist soil loving herbaceous perennial. This plant has many uses, from soap to fertilizer and mulch additive. The plant grows upright, with few branches, but many plants grow together, forming a ground cover. The leaves have cerrated edges and are deep green in color, with each leaf adorned with spiny, stinging sacs of poison. This can cause mild itching, and is good for controlling small to large mammals, as they avoid it when possible. The flowers attract butterflies and pollinaters in the spring and summer. The plant goes deciduous if the water source disappears, returning again with more water.
