Plant Highlights

This is an evergreen shrub with large mapel-leaf-shaped leaves and large flowers over a long season. The flowers are rose to lavender colored with dark purple veins. It is at its best when kept trimmed or it can get leggy, but it is a fine specimen at the back of a native perennial garden, together with Ceanothus, arctostaphylos etc. It is fast growing and easy but provide some protection to young plants as rabbits are highly attracted to this plant.
